If
You are a Windsurfing or Kiting
kind of Guy or Gal....
Traveling
with Children to Aruba...
We have traveled
to Aruba with our Children, now 5, 9 & 11 years old, each year since they
have been Born...
When our Children went
for their First time, they were each about six months old. We
buy them an Airline Ticket and bring along their Car Seats onto
the Airplane for them to sit in... When they were in that six
month age range, we brought along a Super Saucer & a
Seat / Swing, but then again, we ended up going for
six to eight weeks, so it kind of made sense for us to bring along a
few extras to accommodate some of their creature comforts as
well as ours... We have been bringing along our children every
year since, and they are our Biggest Supporters of going back to
Aruba... Go Figure...
We have had, on
occasion, to need a Pediatrician and or Hospital
(swimmers ear infection, etc., etc.) which are within about a
5 to 10 minute drive, of about 90% of the Action on the
Island... (The top 10 miles of this 20 mile Island, is where
90+ % of the Accommodations, Attractions & Tourism sites
are located....)... We have been Very Pleased with the Medical
Staff of both in that they are either Arubian, Dutch or
American... We have put this in our Top Ten
Reasons, because if You have ever been to a Caribbean
Island and have been in need of Medical Attention for You or
Your Family, then Ten Minutes or Ten Miles is Priceless, let
alone a Positive Experience for You & Your Family...
With each Year of
bringing our Children, we realize how Priceless a Family
Vacation can be in Bonding with our Children...
Whether it is in Aruba or Disney World or
Chautauqua Lake, NY, bringing Your Children adds a Huge Degree
of Happiness to a Vacation Experience... thus, another
Positive Experience...
Babysitters:
We have typically Lucked out
in finding a Baby Sitter ahead of time in Aruba... If staying at
Aruba Beach Villas, they can for the most time, be able to
line one up for Your needs, ahead of time... Should You wait
until You get to Aruba, Good Luck period... Most of the Hotels do have a
Babysitter they recommend. Personally, a few points that
should be Addressed when hiring a Local Babysitter are... 1)
No Boyfriends or Friends wishing to Hang out while the Sitter
is on Duty... 2) Make
sure that the Baby Sitter You are planning on Hiring, is in
fact the one that is sent to watch Your Children. 3)
Never let Your Children go in any Vehicles without You. I
would never let our Children leave with a Sitter in their
Vehicle to go to where ever... 4)
Watch out for Illegal Immigrants / non Locals Babysitting for
You. God Forbid they
get snagged by the Law while in the Possession of Your Child
or Children because they don't have a Working Permit...
There are a number
of Children's Attractions in Aruba.... De
Palm Island has a Water Park and is a hit with the
children.... There is a
nice Miniature Golf Course nearby as well and of course, a
typical Accommodation Property like Aruba
Beach Villas, should have a nice sized Swimming
Pool for the Children & Parents to Swim & Play in...
And it is helpful with small children, to hopefully stay at a
Property where there are other Small Children staying as well
for them to Play and Swim with....
thus, another Positive Experience for You & Your Family...
There are many Positive Experiences in Aruba for
Families from Swimming in the Ocean at Arashi Beach to going
on the Semi-Submarine... We bought a couple of nice
Boogie Boards a few years ago at the La-Linda in Downtown (Aruba's Best
Department kind of Store), and go Boogie Boarding at Arashi
in the Waves... Too much fun...
